WDCA Bylaws
- Name.
The name of this organization shall be the West Deerfield Community Alliance (WDCA). - Purpose.
The purpose of the WDCA shall be to share, discuss and disseminate information among the communities comprising membership regarding issues affecting the quality of life of West Deerfield Beach. The WDCA shall be non-political in nature and shall not endorse any candidate(s) for political office. - Meetings.
The meetings of the WDCA shall be on the last Wednesday of every month or at such other time(s) as the membership shall decide. All meetings shall be open to the public. Each community having membership in the WDCA is entitled to have two (2) formal representatives at each meeting. The formal representatives of each community shall be selected by that community according to its own procedures. - Membership.
The membership of the WDCA shall be comprised of the following communities:- Crystal Key Pointe.
- Deer Isle.
- Deer Pointe.
- Deer Run.
- Gates of Hillsboro.
- Hammocks.
- Harbors of Riverglen.
- Riverglen.
- Starlight Cove.
- Villa Portofino.
- Waterford Homes.
The WDCA shall also permit a non-voting representative from Century Village, Deer Creek and Independence Bay to attend the meetings.
- Voting Rights.
Each community is entitled to one vote at WDCA meetings. In the event of a dispute among the two formal representatives of a community on how to vote, that community shall not be entitled to vote on the matter. Approval of WDCA minutes requires a majority vote. Approval to lobby the city commission or other government officials regarding any particular issue requires a 2/3 majority. In the event of a dispute within a community as to how its two formal representatives desire to vote, that community shall not be permitted to vote on any matter pending before the WDCA until such dispute is internally resolved by that community. - Mission Statement.
The mission statement of the WDCA shall be as follows:
